Abstract:
In recent years, hybrid aerial underwater vehicles(HAUV) have become a popular research topic due to their cross-domain advantages. In this paper, based on the bionic variant technology, we design a new folding wings hybrid aerial underwater vehicle. We are able to fold and deploy the front and rear wings at the same time by a single electric actuator. Then, we consider the aerodynamic characteristics of each wing type and determine the front and rear wing types. Finally, we conduct computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of the aerial and underwater states of the vehicle to verify the feasibility and stability of aerial flight and underwater submergence of the vehicle.
