Abstract:

Communicating with hearing impaired people through sign language is challenging since Indian Sign Language (ISL) differs from each state. This acts as a solution to the dearth of resources for studying ISL in Tamil, addressing the issues faced by the 1.6 million disabled people in Tamil Nadu. This innovative software prototype offers real-time subtitles for Indian Sign Language (ISL), empowering the deaf and dumb communities. A painstakingly trained machine learning model, an easy-to-use web application made using Streamlit, a smooth integration of the ML model for real-time sign recognition, and cloud deployment for public accessibility are the main elements of the project. The project’s potential to improve comprehension and communication within the deaf and dumb community is what makes it significant.
