Internet of Things Focused Optimal Distance and Boundary Algorithm for Smart Cities

Internet of things (loT) is gaining considerable momentum to serve the community an unprecedented level of attainment through associated applications like smart cities, smart homes, smart medical systems, smart fire system, quick response traffic systems, quick pandemic relief applications etc. There are too many applications to be considered for the benefit of the society being affected by the incorporation of technological compliant solutions specifically like loT. The correct identification of the area and region over which the loT applications are to be deployed imposes challenges like coverage, boundary, communication, optimal distance etc. In this paper, the least polar angle connected node (LPCN) and distributed least polar angle connected node (D-LPCN) algorithms have been evaluated and a proposal to novel scheme based on these has been presented. The optimal distance boundary algorithm has been proposed in reference to the Internet of Things based smart cities applications. The assessment has been conducted on one node to a thousand nodes. The evaluation metrics namely: battery level and energy consumption have been computed and analyzed based on these scenarios. The simulations have been carried out to prove the validity of the proposed work.
