Abstract:
This article considers the analysis of the higher harmonics impacts on the electricity quality parameters at mining facilities. The brief outline of the theory identifies the standardized electricity quality parameters that can be interesting for mining companies. The authors provide their maximum permitted deviations during the measurement time. The research focuses on the skip-hoisting plant of the vertical by-pit of an underground diamond ore mine. The authors describe the power supply and electric drive systems of the research facility. They provide a series of non-linear loads that contribute to the distortion of electricity quality parameters. The authors also provide the measurement results for electricity quality parameters including frequency deviation, voltage drift, and harmonic components of voltage. The authors tested the previously developed signature mathematical treatment procedure for higher harmonic measurement results to assess compliance with standards for such electricity quality parameters as the total harmonic voltage component factor and specific factors of harmonic voltage components n.
