Summary
Monolithic smart power integration is the integrating of the analog electronic parts and digital and power stages on the same silicon crystal, obtaining electrical characteristics comparable to those using discrete products. Functional integration is useful in the development of switch functions. The largest innovation is based on the development of a monolithic dual thyristor, this being conceivable by benefitting from an optimized association of semiconductor areas to the quite specific characteristics: the concept of functional integration, even. The chapter presents two basic configurations most used in analog CMOS circuitry: common source editing and cascode editing. By nature, the maximum gain of a common source amplifier in CMOS technology is a few tens in magnitude. The operational amplifier (Op‐Amp) is defined as a voltage source controlled by a differential input voltage. Op‐Amps are generally used in the linear regime and with feedback.
