From the Editor

In reviewing this issue of the magazine, I am struck by its forward-looking nature. The DEIS YP (Young Professionals) and WIE (Women in Engineering) committees are the foundation of our society moving forward. Their enthusiasm and drive will help carry us into the future and achieve our goals. The feature articles in this issue explore materials for potential use in electric vehicles and the implementation of AI for asset management. It was not that many years ago when these types of concepts were limited to the realms of science fiction. It all points to the endless possibilities in the future.
