Abstract:
Textile industry plays an important role to Vietnam's economy. In 2022, Vietnam's export in terms of textile such as fabrics, cotton, yarns, garments, clothing … was ranked the 3rd position in the world, just after China and Bangladesh. However, in an ever-changing world, and in the context of the 4.0 revolution, all enterprises in the textile supply chain have been facing a lot of risks both from macro and micro environment. The aim described in this study is fourfold: i) Firstly, do literature review on application of digital technologies for supply chain risk management; ii) investigate authentically risks that textile enterprises in Vietnam are facing; iii) study status quo on application of digital technologies for risk management and finally iv) give suggestions for managing supply chain risks efficiently. For literature review, bibliometric analysis was also employed with the support of VOSviewer software tool in order to explore prominent research clusters. To capture the current status of supply chain risk management and application of digital technologies in Vietnam, the study used snowball sampling method for collecting questionnaires from 30 textile enterprises, combining 4 in-depth interviews to typical enterprises; then the data was analyzed by statistical method and comparison. Results show "Market requirements transformation"; "Competition, competitiveness" and "Uncontrollable external risks" were evaluated as the top risks. Moreover, even though the role of application of digital technologies for supply chain risk management is highly appreciated, most enterprises have a rather modest level of application of digital technologies. Based on these empirical results, suggestions were given for promoting risk management capacity, contributing towards sustainable textile supply chain.
