Abstract:

The observation of fire-prone zones via sensors and the preclusion of complications via forecast is highly essential for the security of these areas. Fire sensors are meant to monitor any fire-related events in a room and will convert the data into a digital domain and data will be processed by a microcontroller to decide the fire condition. In the present study, a fire alarm was developed for data acquisition on fire events based on short-range wireless communication networking. Using an RF transceiver data will be shared with the remote display and alarm unit. An AC (220V) current was converted to a DC supply (5V) by scheming a power supply board. The information pertaining to fire was acquired using a photodiode for digitizing it using an Arduino programmed board for processing and showing on LCD. The decision for fire conditions was then determined by writing a program in C language. The output was communicated to a distant and inaccessible location using short-range Zig Bee technology. The sensor was tested for varying fire scenarios. The minimum value on the LCD display depicts the absence of fire near the photo sensor and raising values on the LCD screen marks the presence of fire near the photo sensor.
