Abstract:

In this study, we examine the effectiveness and problems of countermeasures against harmonic disturbances caused by agricultural heat pumps (AHPs) via a harmonic analysis using a model based on actual measurements. We propose that the countermeasure methods include a revised JIS C 61000-3-2 (based on IEC 61000-3-2 standard) to suppress the harmonic current outflow of AHPs and installation of LC filters in the distribution system to absorb the harmonic currents. Harmonics calculation revealed that both can effectively suppress the voltage distortion. Meanwhile, the installation of LC filters increases the fundamental voltage, making it difficult to maintain an appropriate voltage. Therefore, the suppression of harmonic outflows from AHPs by revising JIS is considered a radical countermeasure, and the installation of LC filters in the distribution system is a temporary measure until the effect of the revision is distinct.
