Abstract:

In this paper, we first established an efficient HTS stack model using the finite element method (FEM). The model used to determine the electromagnetic characteristics of stacks composed of second-generation high temperature superconductors (HTS) is based on the two-dimensional T-A formulation. The magnetic vector potential A is solved using an effective method that differs from the prior integral method, and the superconducting layer is built as a one-dimensional model. Finally, the results show that the suggested method is accurate and effective in terms of the distribution of magnetic fields, current densities, and AC loss.
