Abstract:
Each fitness app has its own method and effectiveness on how their users become physically active to improve their general health. This study proposes a prototype design of the “Wellness wise” app, a tracker, fitness, and mental health mobile application using the Design Thinking Methodology, including Empathy, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The authors gather data through survey to determine their working routines, experiences in using the existing fitness applications, and ideas on improving the existing fitness apps. The data were analyzed to come up with features of the app based on user requirements. The proposed design was tested in terms of ease of use; then, suggestions and feedback from the respondents were gathered and analyzed to improve and enhance the Wellness wise application using SWOT analysis. The results show that the majority of respondents were satisfied with the design of the app, which includes features such as gamification, social media feedback, and virtual coaches.
