Abstract:

Long-lived military platforms and slow acquisition cycles result in the use of legacy electrical components across the DoD. To prevent counterfeit parts from entering safety and mission critical systems, methods of classifying parts and determining risk are a necessity. This work discusses a revised view of the Power Spectral Analysis method of counterfeit detection utilizing targeted stimuli, Multi-Tone Analysis, to increase spectrum agility, target critical frequencies for investigation, and facilitate the simulation of this second-order effect classification technique.
