Abstract:

This paper presents the design and analysis of a three-phase Vienna Rectifier for electric vehicle charging application with Voltage-Oriented Control (VOC) and Space Vector Modulation (SVM) for the VR and Constant Current Constant Voltage (CCCV) charging algorithm for the battery charger. The charger input voltage is three-phase AC 400V (line-rms) with an output voltage/current of 600V /32A to charge a 600V 100Ah lithium-ion battery used in Electric Vehicles. The charger output power is 22 kW. It has a low input current Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), which meets IEEE-519 standards, and almost unity power factor.
