Abstract:

This paper involves modeling and simulating a real submersible pump powered by a three-phase induction motor (3PIM) to examine its transient and steady-state properties, such as its torque-speed, torque-time, speed-time characteristics, and its rotor and stator currents characteristics, etc. To improve the motor characteristics, the motor's properties can be precisely predicted using computer software. A class D 15KW three-phase squirrel cage induction motor has been examined and modeled using Ansys Electromagnetics 2022R1-Maxwell 2D. improving the efficiency and torque of the submersible induction motors is studied using the parametric technique, and the effect of changing design parameters such as rotor bars dimension, Slots dimension, air gap length, and stack length has been investigated. The parametric variation resulted in an increase in efficiency by 2.3%, and the rated torque increased by 3.4 N.m.
