Abstract:

Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is one among the most powerful and dynamic advancements in the field of communication technology. The latter has revolutionized the healthcare industry as well, by bringing many applications varying from remote monitoring to deployment of smart sensors which improves the quality, accessibility, and affordability of healthcare. Currently, RPL is acknowledged as the widely used routing-protocols while designing IoT software, which makes this protocol face severe security threats. In RPL networks, Sybil attacks pose a serious security risk where a malign actor establishes numerous false identities in an effort to take over the network or interfere with its operations. To tackle the Sybil attack threat in smart healthcare system, this paper proposes a two-phase algorithm (TB2PA) that can detect and identify Sybil nodes in the network by performing a functional dependency check and then followed by a trust evaluation in subsequent phases respectively. Cooja-Simulator is used to develop and assess the suggested method. The implementation results shows that our system is efficient in terms of packet loss ratio, memory usage and time.
