Abstract:
During the COVID-19 health crisis, hospitals have experienced an agitated time in managing all patients with this virus. 2022 has seen an increase of 20% to 30% more patients hospitalized in emergency rooms than last year. The lack of human and material resources has worsened the situation. Not all hospitals were prepared to receive a large flow of patients in such a short time. This overload could jeopardize the quality of care. This study aims to optimize the care pathway of a patient with COVID-19 to reach the maximum capacity of the hospital. For this purpose, the process will be modeled using the collaboration diagram to identify the different interactions between the health professionals and the patient; then, this model will be optimized by indicating the bottlenecks. Finally, a simulation of this model will be established to validate the fluidity of the physical and information flow throughout the care pathway.
