Abstract:
The bonded foil strain gage has been with us since the 1950's and has been refined and improved many times since that decade. Because of its inherent accuracy, stability, repeatability and small temperature errors, it is one of the most popular sensing devices used in today's pressure transducers. This paper discusses the strain gage transducer in terms of its design characteristics and a practical guide in selecting the proper transducer for the intended application.
