Abstract:
This paper presents a series inductance estimation scheme of dual active bridge (DAB) converter. Among many other parameters, series inductance is a predominant variable which governs average power flow in DAB. The value of DAB series inductance may change slowly over time due to ageing related factors. Parametric uncertainty of this key variable can affect the performance and accuracy of estimation based control strategies. Requirement of parameter estimation becomes even more crucial for equal sharing of throughput power in individual DAB cells of modular solid state transformer (SST). This work proposes series inductance estimation scheme of DAB in SST which is essential for observer based sensorless equal voltage and power sharing control.
