Abstract:
With the current development rate of a distributed generation the significant part of the electric power consumption structure presented by a motor load makes more significant the issue of the induction motor successful starting control in electric power systems with comparable capacity. The successful starting control of an induction motor at early stages with the fast shutdown of a motor in case of the unsuccessful starting allows to prevent the occurrence of a normal operation mode disturbance process in local supply power systems. Such measures allow to increase the reliability of power supply and power plants operation. The existing methods of the successful starting control of the large motors that operate at large-scale power systems are not suitable in power systems with comparable capacity. Designing the successful starting control automatics of an induction motor in power systems with comparable capacity requires proper models of the critical conditions that consider the values of a mode and mechanical parameters of an induction motor. The article reflects critical conditions for the successful induction motor starting determination and the algorithm of the control automatics using those conditions.
