Abstract:
Logarithmic detectors are widely used in measuring and receiving equipment. They have many advantages over other types of signal converters, but also a very high cost. Studying the parameters of the output signals when changing input parameters significantly simplify and reduce the cost of developing and debugging electronic equipment. This article describes the principle of operation of the logarithmic detector. The transformation processes of a logarithmic detector of a high-frequency pulse signal with a rectangular envelope and additive noise, which has a uniform SPD distribution law, are modeled programmatically. Graphs of the dependences of the output voltage on the power level of the input signal for different noise power levels are presented. Statistical data on the distribution of the output signal values are given. During the experiment, experimental graphs of the dependence of the output voltage of the LD on the parameters of the input signal were obtained and analyzed.
