Biography

Erik Vilain Thomsen (Member, IEEE) was born in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1964. He received the M.Sc. degree in physics from the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark, in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Lyngby, Denmark, in 1998.,He is currently a Professor with the Department of Health Technology, DTU, where he is also the Head of the MEMS Applied Sensors Group and the Head of the division with responsibility for the education in healthcare engineering. He teaches classes in solid-state electronics, microtechnology, and nanofabrication and microfabrication. This work presents the fabrication process of anodically bonded 192+192 2D row-column addressed (RCA) capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) arrays.
