Abstract:

The paper presents an S-band patch and a wire helical antenna integrated with an optical remote sensing camera for efficient placement on the body of CubeSat nanosatellites. The overall dimensions of the antennas correspond to the geometric parameters of the spacecraft, where one side of the cube is 100 mm * 100 mm. The patch antenna is made of a double layer of fiberglass FR-4 with a thickness 1.6 mm, the copper active (radiating) plane is made in the form of the Zhanabaev’s anisotropic fractal. There are two resonant frequencies in the range from 1MHz to 4 GHz, with center frequencies of 2.05 GHz and 2.45 GHz. The reflector of the helical antenna is also made of copper with an FR-4 substrate. Its resonant frequency is 2.35 GHz. The electrodynamic characteristics and directional properties of the considered antennas are investigated.
