Abstract:

The Moth Flame Optimization (MFO) technique was introduced in this research to decide the size and location of D-STATCOM (DS) and distribution generation (DG) in a radial distribution system (RDS) under various scenarios. Loss minimization in the distribution network (DN) is a primary concern nowadays to improve voltage profile with a reduction in voltage deviation to maintain it within the acceptable limit as per IEEE standard 1547 and the reduction of line losses. Reactive power is compensated using DS & active power is compensated with the help of DG. Improvement of voltage profile, decrement in power loss, and energy-saving are made using optimal allocation (OA). MATLAB-2021a was used to obtain the IEEE 33 and 69 bus RDS simulation results.
