Abstract:

A method for converting voxel data arrays into a function-based description of surfaces is proposed. When implementing the method, the reverse traversal of the octal tree of division of the object space was used. The transformation takes place through a rigorous mathematical calculation, rather than iterations and approximations that lead to partial loss of information. The method consists in solving a system of equations for each level of subdivision of the object space and minimizing the number of functions. The simulation results confirmed the efficiency and effectiveness of the developed method.
