Abstract:

In this work, a resonant switched capacitor converter with two resonant paths is proposed. The target of this topology is to be used as sub-module converter in photovoltaic applications processing the generated power under partial shading, aiming at a small-sized, efficient solution. The topology achieves a variable voltage conversion ratio by altering its duty cycle. An explanation of its basic operation is initially offered, followed by a detailed analysis and exploration of the important metrics such as basic components' current and voltage stress. The analysis is then verified by simulations.
