Abstract:
The increasing penetration of photovoltaic (PV) systems in distribution network (DN) currently makes the PV hosting capacity (PVHC) evaluation a research hotspot. To this end, this paper proposes an improved PVHC evaluation method based on the analyses of affine-form voltage sensitivity and interval-form overvoltage risk. This method can not only reduce the computational burden by voltage sensitivity analysis, but also quantify the overvoltage risk caused by the uncertainty of PV configuration. Meanwhile, the application of interval arithmetic (IA) and affine arithmetic (AA) can overcome the shortcomings of probabilistic approaches in dealing with uncertainties. The IEEE 33-bus test feeder is used to verify its reasonability and the value in decision-making of PV planning for utilities.
