Abstract:

The industry is trying various ways to meet the strengthening environmental. DME (dimethyl ether) has little environmental pollution for internal combustion engine so it has been considered to replace the deisel and gasoline fuel. This study evaluated the performance of fuel pumps in the system and compared the performance of each pump in order to confirm that DME fuel replace the diesel and gasoline fuel. In this study there are two types of fuel pumps used. AFT pumps and Doowon pump tested about 30 to 50 Mpa of common rail and 300 to 1,000 rpm of speed. As a result of the experiment, the results show that AFT pump and Doowon pump satisfied the requirements of the passenger vehicles. AFT pump shows 700lph flow rate at 500rpm and 30Mpa conditon, Doowon pump shows 28lph flow rate at 500rpm and 20Mpa conditions.
