Abstract:
Power Line Communication (PLC) is growing to be a decent alternative for data transfer, as the wireless channel is bombarded with surge of users every day and also owing to its cost efficiency. The obstacles in PLC i.e. impulse noise and frequency selective fading are dealt successfully with the integration of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Interleave Division Multiple Access (IDMA) schemes. However, the use of interleaver in IDMA tends to increase memory requirement and complexity. The paper aims to compare the performance of various interleavers for OFDM-IDMA system over PLC and to conclude which interleaveris best in terms of bit error rate (BER), memory requirement, bandwidth efficiency and complexity. Also, the effect of Convolutional code on BER performance is analyzed.
