Abstract:

A modulation and control of grid connected quasi Z-source Inverter (qZSI) in closed loop for solar photovoltaic system is proposed in this paper. The detailed average and small-signal modeling is obtained for qZSI, derived from Z-source inverter is investigated for operation in solar photovoltaic system. The boundaries for continuous conduction and discontinuous conduction modes of the qZSI network are identified and made to work in continuous conduction mode only. The mathematical modeling is done using average state-space modeling for its closed loop control. The MATLAB/SIMULINK model is developed and is tested for the developed control algorithm.
