Influence of no-wait and time lag constraints in flowshop scheduling systems

This paper deals with waiting time constraints in the well-known flowshop layout for makespan and flowtime objectives. Especially no-wait constraint and limited time lags are compared. Here, time lags are seen as a relaxation of the no-wait assumption which correlates with a potential increase of the solution space. Because this work is only the first step of examination, next to a detailed overview of previous works, this paper presents a method, i.e. complete enumeration, for evaluating the waiting time constraints by focusing on dominances regarding solution quality and speed.
