Abstract:
Power distribution network expansion planning (DNEP) has become robust, more demanding and has been purposed and reported by various eminent researchers with different objectives, applying numerous load flow analysis techniques and optimization methodologies. While doing forecasting for a distribution network expansion; which is a multifaceted process due to prevailing substitutes, uncertainties, objectives and constraints; the heuristic techniques of optimization are becoming meta-heuristic and cross verification has become new approach to prove the effectiveness of the obtained results. In present work, a review has been carried out of the available gigantic excellence literature on DNEP problem optimization methodologies to be implemented to obtain optimal solution, with more prominence on cross verification and comparison of results with various other appropriate and effective previously used methodologies. Each methodology has its own features and prospective for expressively stimulate the DNEP in power systems domain. The article reported most of the above said opinions from various literatures till date as well as shortcomings to facilitate enduring and budding research in this field.
