Abstract:
With the rise of large-scale ranching, retail ranching has declined. Traditional artificial monitoring of dairy cow estrus has been unable to meet the demand. The idea of using pedometers to monitor dairy cow estrus is gaining popularity. However, the existing cow pedometer system has problems such as high power consumption, short transmission distance, low step accuracy and single function. Therefore, a dairy cow step and gesture detection system based on multi-sensor and LoRa network is designed. The steps were recorded by the “slope detection gait algorithm”, and the dairy cow's gesture was determined according to the real-time pressure value. At the same time, low power and long distance LoRa is adopted for data transmission. The results show that the accuracy of the measurement is above 96% and the gesture of the dairy cow can be accurately identified. The transmission distance of LoRa can reach 2km, and the system can be used for 3.9 years theoretically.
