Abstract:

While selecting a free time slot of a licensed user, secondary users (SU) have to decide based on some parameters including primary user service type, secondary user service type, channel outage probability, delay of channel, transmission rate of channel etc. Proper channel utilization and quality of service (QoS) largely depend on properly selecting channel from available channels. In our work, we have focused on these things. We have proposed distributed mutual exclusion (DME) and Bayesian approach here. Using Bayesian approach, channel utilization can be calculated and based on channel utilization, channel is chosen for secondary usage. Simulation result shows that, lower outage probability and higher signal to noise ratio are achievable rather than blindly selecting a channel for secondary usage.
