Abstract:
This paper presents a Proof of Concept (PoC) for extracting emotions portrayed in the text of e-books and accordingly play a music and / or alter the ambience color attuned to the emotions portrayed. The eyeball tracker algorithm helps to synchronize the reading speed and music. This enhances the interest levels for the reader resulting in increased concentration and higher time spent on reading e-books. Each sentence in a paragraph is analyzed and classified into different emotions by tokenizing the words using Natural Language Tool Kit. Accordingly, the corresponding music and ambient colors are chosen and triggered. Additionally, the paper proposes that the system be augmented with an eyeball tracker that continuously monitors the eyeball movements and if the reader parks in a particular sentence or word for more than 3 seconds and up to 10 seconds, the algorithm takes that as keyword(s) and offers to store the same as Flashcard for later review as well as offers a contextual search which in turn can bring relevant Massive open online Course (MooC) links. This paper describes the design and implementation prototype of the application and future scope for augmentation.
