Abstract:

The incidence of type 2 diabetes is increasing throughout the world. For the first time in the history, there are 422 million diabetes patients, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) [1]. Medical records currently account for 350 million obese people in the world with more than half of European Union citizens being obese or overweight and with/or without the risk of developing diabetes. In the past 30 years, the number of diabetic individuals has tripled, all over the world, including Romania. We have developed an Intelligent System using Smart Sensors and constructed a Personalized Diet and education principles to improve health and quality of life for normal and type 2 diabetic patients.
