Abstract:

This work presents a high-gain double reflectors microstrip-fed slot antenna for WLAN and WiMAX applications as the IEEE 802.11b/g and IEEE 802.11a standards. The antenna is composed of a microstrip-fed slot with a complementary stub on a single substrate and a pair of reflectors. The reflectors are exploited to achieve bi-directional radiation patterns which is suitable for using in buildings or corridor. The antenna is optimized to obtain gains: 4.75 dbi, 5.1 dBi, and 9.9 dBi, at the frequency of 2.4 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 5.2 GHz, respectively. To validate the designed antenna, a prototype antenna was fabricated and measured to carry out its S11, radiation patterns, and gain. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated ones.
