Abstract:
Gold nanoparticles have been synthesized in channels of macroscopically ordered arrays of hollow fibers of the chrysotile. The channels were less than five nanometers in diameter and about one centimeter in length. Structural and optical properties of chrysotile impregnated with gold nanoparticles have been studied on X-ray diffractometer, transmission electron microscope and by the transmission/reflection spectroscopy. The strong dependence of optical spectra on the polarization of the incident light has been observed. The spectral features have been explained by plasmon resonances of particle chains in nanochannels.
