Abstract:

This paper presents an ocular system to provide improved mobility of the ocular implant. A person with one eye missing, through various reasons, may suffer severely. Patients with such defects may withdraw from society. The loss of an eye can be solved by the ocular implant cosmetically. The prosthesis appears natural, but it is static. There were other groups of researchers who used the hydroxyapatite orbital implant to rehabilitate the anophthalmic socket. The artificial eye implant has a movable ability, but it only has a small degree of movement. The purpose of this paper is to develop an ocular system so that the artificial eye can have natural movement. The system uses a real movement signal to control the artificial eye movement. How to detect the eye movement is an important issue. A review of eye movement detection methods is included in this paper. The main part of the paper deals with the experimental system and the further considerations.
