Abstract:

In the southern part of Ukraine, the increasing of the installed capacity of the solar power plants (SPP) effects on load-frequency control in the interconnected power system (IPS) of Ukraine. In order to mitigate power flow fluctuations due to the stochastic generation of SPP, the local active power controller (LAPC) is proposed. LAPC generates a control signal to the units of the regulating power plant. The structure diagram of such controller is presented and simulation results of LAPC operation considering SPP generation are shown. The developed model is used to study the impact of SPP on load-frequency control in power systems.
