Abstract:

This paper proposes and demonstrates a broadband rectifier circuit designed by maximizing the quality factor of its input matching circuit. This paper clarifies the relationship between the quality factor of the input matching circuit and rectifier performance. By adopting a transmission line of suitable length, the rectifier achieves both high power conversion efficiency and broadband operation. The rectifier circuit employs a double-voltage type diode configuration. The input matching circuit of the rectifier consists of a high impedance transmission line, two open stubs in parallel and a capacitor. The fabricated rectifier circuit demonstrates a RF-DC conversion efficiency of 81 % at 10 dBm input power and 1.62 GHz. The operating bandwidth is 300 MHz. its performance matches of the best rectifiers reported to date which validates the proposed design.
