Abstract:

Nath et al had developed Multi-Way Feedback Encryption Standard(MWFES) ver-1, 2, 3 where the authors have used feedbacks from forward and backward direction. In all the MWFES versions, the authors used byte level encryption and it was found that the results were quite satisfactory. In the present method Bit Level Multi Way Feedback Standard (BLMWFES-2), the encryption-decryption process is done in bit-level. The number of times the encryption process will be carried out(encryption number) is determined from the generated keypad. This keypad is generated from the user entered key (seed) using the key-expansion algorithm explained in section-II. This key expansion is the principal difference between the present work BLMWFES-2 and BLMWFES-1. A new concept called ‘Fold’ has been introduced. Also the number of shuffling functions in used to rearrange the keypad is increased to twenty four functions as opposed to seven in BLMWFES-1. The order of execution of these functions to reshuffle the keypad is taken to be another key which shall be provided by anyone who is implementing this method. This method has been tested on standard plain texts such as ASCII ‘0’, ASCII ‘1’ and the results are found to be quite satisfactory. This method is immune to any classical form of attacks.
