Abstract:

Image inpainting is a repairing method for missed or damaged area in the images. This field of image processing research is very active over recent years and many researchers work on it to create new methods or improve existing methods. Exemplar-based inpainting is one of them and dropping effect is a problem in this method that effect on inpainting results. In this article, a fuzzy method for solving dropping effect is presented. The proposed approach presents better quality on the final results.

I. Introduction

Image inpainting is one of the special image processing problems that has no well-defined single solution. Inpainting term was first appeared in the art with the meaning of repairing the ancient paintings. The inpainting problem contains analysis of texture patterns which makes an impact in other image processing fields. It has become a usual tool in digital photography for image repairing. All researches are ongoing to generalize and to apply the image inpainting as a key tool for many applications [1], [2].
