Summary

The premise of the OODA loop was to give structure to decision making so readers could make decisions much faster and more informed than their opponent. There are many examples of OODA loops that should be applied in retail. OODA stands for observe, orient, decide, act. If they want to build a self‐driving car, they need a team of engineers working on each of the four stages of the OODA loop. Just like a self‐driving car, using cameras throughout the store, an AI system can observe store conditions, orient itself, make decisions, and then act. Using shelf digitization technology such as shelf‐cameras allows them to run through the OODA loop in seconds like so. There are 1,000s of OODA loops that they can and should implement in their stores; each one will cause a meaningful increase in free cash flow.
