Abstract:
The food and beverage industry (F&B) is a business that has the main task of serving foods and beverages to consumers to provide customer satisfaction in terms of taste, quality, appearance, serving service, and atmosphere. Dessert is one of the things that is included in the fields of F&B and is related to current trends. One of the popular desserts is panna cotta which is a dessert from Italy that has a soft and jiggly texture and melts in the mouth. This paper investigates the use of social media, specifically Twitter, to study the social representations of people in Indonesia towards a classic Italian dessert named panna cotta. This paper aims to explore people's content and sentiment towards panna cotta. In particular, this study focuses on people's perception on panna cotta which can help businesses to determine whether people in Indonesia are interested in panna cotta, what makes them interested, and what flavours are preferred by them. In this research, the data was collected for analysis and divided into 3 categories: positive, neutral, and negative.
