Abstract:
This paper presents a methodology for calculating induced currents in sectionalized and continuous cross-bonding systems of high-voltage cables, offering an alternative to the correction factor suggested by the IEC 60287 standard. Unlike the simplified approach in the standard, the proposed methodology provides physically robust results by considering parameters and variables often neglected by the correction factor. This allows for a more accurate evaluation of energy losses, cable ampacity, and operating temperatures under various conditions. The methodology enhances the accuracy of the analysis, offering valuable insights for improving system performance, reliability, and safety while addressing the complexities associated with cross-bonding configurations.
