Abstract:

This paper presents a face detection and recognition system implemented on the NAO robot using the YOLO5 algorithm. The system is capable of identifying both known and unknown individuals in real-time. By integrating the YOLO5 algorithm with NAO's facial recognition capabilities, the system can accurately detect and recognize faces. The YOLO5 algorithm enables real-time object detection by processing images in a single pass through a deep convolutional neural network. By leveraging YOLO's efficiency and accuracy, combined with NAO's facial recognition capabilities, the system achieves reliable face detection and recognition. Extensive testing was conducted to evaluate the system's performance. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in detecting and recognizing faces in various environments and lighting conditions.
