Abstract:

The article is devoted to investigate the effect of the thyristor voltage and power regulators (TVPR) output voltage under longitudinal-transverse regulation on the energy characteristics of a medium voltage (MV) closed-circuit distribution network (real and reactive power, efficiency of power transmission lines, voltage at load nodes). The research was performed using a simulation computer model developed in the Matlab Simulink program for a section of a distribution network with a TVPR. The network modes parameters change dependences have been obtained during TVPR longitudinal, transverse and longitudinal-transverse voltage regulation. It is established that in the entire range of longitudinal-transverse regulation, the efficiency of the power transmission line keeps a high value. The use of TVPR allows for a wide range of regulation of the flows of real and reactive power circulating in the network. The operating modes of the network have been determined, which make it possible to exclude overflows of real and reactive power between substations during longitudinal-transverse regulation. The use of TVPR will ensure an optimal voltage level for consumers, optimal distribution of real and reactive power flows in meshed systems, increase the power of networks, reduce real power losses during transmission.
