Abstract:

The parallel connection of modules is a commonly used technique to increase the power rating of a power converter. However, this approach can have significant drawbacks in terms of impact on load, safety, and reliability. Therefore, the converter architecture and control must be designed with flexibility to ensure operation. This paper proposes a novel power management control strategy based on fuzzy logic algorithms. The proposed method is applied to manage the output power between parallel boost high gain converter. The power management conditions of each module depend on the output power that the load requires. Moreover, the power management system is also designed to provide support if one of the three modules fails. The considered system consists of three parallel converter modules rated at 375 W. Simulation with MATLAB/Simulink was used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The simulation results show that the output power of each module can be effectively managed according to the load demand.
