Chapter Abstract:
Summary
Dual Mach–Zehnder interferometer (DMZI)‐based distributed fiber optical vibration sensing system has received significant interests because of its simple structure, fast response, and high sensitivity to vibration. The DMZI vibration sensing system has been widely used in perimeter security monitoring, pipeline leakage detection, and other applications. It can precisely obtain vibration position by employing the time delay estimation algorithm, which lies at the heart of position. In this chapter, the DMZI‐based vibration sensing system will be introduced in the following several aspects. The sensing theory of the DMZI vibration sensing system is theoretically analyzed in Section . The polarization degradation‐induced problem and a kind of polarization control method will be analyzed and introduced in Section . The instrument design of the DMZI vibration sensing system is realized in Section . Finally in Section , the related signal processing algorithm and the pattern recognition technology are deduced and analyzed.
