Abstract:

This study conducts a thorough examination of the ethical challenges arising from security vulnerabilities and data privacy issues within the domain of social networking. In an era where digital connectivity plays a pivotal role in shaping societal interactions, the ethical dimensions of safeguarding user data and privacy have become paramount. The research employs a structured systematic review methodology to synthesize existing knowledge and contribute nuanced insights to the ongoing discourse and evaluated the existing research whose foundational studies have explored various facets of ethical considerations within social media platforms. The comparison and contrast of these ethical challenges reveal commonalities, such as the importance of user trust, while highlighting distinctions in regulatory frameworks and technological solutions. The findings emphasize the interconnected nature of these challenges, underscoring the need for a holistic approach that integrates technological innovations, regulatory frameworks, and user-centric ethical practices. The study concludes by proposing future recommendations that aim to foster a secure, transparent, and privacy-respecting social networking environment, aligning with evolving ethical principles and user expectations.
